Adding a simple product (dimensions and weight tab)


This section is only necessary if you will be calculating your shipping based on dimensions or weight. Here is what to do.

Getting ready

You should have to hand all of the product weights and dimensions. Also have to hand the overall weight including any packaging it will be shipped in.

How to do it...

Adding a simple product using the Product Dimensions and Weight tab:

  1. Click on the Product Dimensions and Weight tab. You will see the following self-explanatory screen:

  2. But filling it in accurately will make life a lot easier when we configure shipping by weight in Chapter 3, Shipping and Taxes.

  3. Make sure to select the correct units of measurement for product dimensions (M, CM, MM, Yards), product weight (Gramme, Kilogramme, Pounds, Ounces), and product packaging weight(Kilogramme, Metres, Metres squared, cubed and so on).
