Overview of this book

ServiceNow is a SaaS application that provides workflow form-based applications. It is an ideal platform for creating enterprise-level applications, giving requesters and fulfillers improved visibility and access to a process. ServiceNow-based applications often replace email by providing a better way to get work done. This course will show you how to put important ServiceNow features to work in the real world. Working with the report sources

Report filters are very useful for a system administrator. Very often, we come across a situation where we need to refine the report filter to meet the business requirement. So, to avoid rework we can define a report source as a reusable component. In this recipe, we will learn to work with report sources.

Getting ready

For this recipe, you need an active service-now instance, valid credentials  and an admin role.

How to do it...

  1. Open a web browser (Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Internet Explorer).
  2. Type the instance web address in the address bar.
  3. Log in to the Service-Now instance using the credentials.
  4. Type the report in the search bar (left-hand side).
  5. Under the reports application, from the administration section, click on Report Sources:
  1. You will be redirected to the following page, where you can view the predefined Report Sources. If you want to create a new data source, then click on New button:
