Overview of this book

Creating new reports


By default, Service-Now provides the View/Run module to view the existing report or create new report. In this recipe, you will learn how to create new reports within the Service-Now environment.

Getting ready

For this recipe, all you need is an active Service-Now instance, valid credentials and a role (admin, report admin, or report Group).

How to do it...

  1. Open a web browser (Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Internet Explorer).
  2. Type the instance web address in the address bar.
  3. Log in to the Service-Now instance using the credentials.
  4. Type Report in the search bars (left-hand side).

 

  1. Now, Click on Create View/Run module under report application.
  2. Now configure the report as follows.
  3. After click, you will able be able to view selected columns in section 3 as shown in following screenshot:
