Forgetting verification tools

Yoursite.wordpress.com offers much more than insight into how the search spiders interact with your site. It also provides a verification function. Verifying your site through Google Webmaster Tools, lets Google know that your site has an active and engaged webmaster. The same goes for Google Analytics. Having Google Analytics installed on your site sends a signal to Google, that an active webmaster is at the helm. The same dictate applies to having an XML sitemap that resides in your site's root directory. Your sitemap, even if not needed for indexing purposes, lends additional credence to your website.
