Fixing sound

Now, occasionally, regardless of how much effort you put into choosing the right microphone and positioning it as well as you can, there will still be issues with the sound that you have recorded. Let us look at how we can fix some of these common issues.

These audio fixing tools are Fairlight FX plugins built into Resolve and are found on the Cut, Edit, and Fairlight pages. We are going to explore the use of these tools called plugins from within the Cut page. Go to the Cut page, and navigate to Effects > Audio > Fairlight FX, where you will find the following built-in audio-fixing plugins.

Sometimes, when recording some people’s voices, they sound sibilant. Sibilance is when someone over-emphasizes the “s” sound in words.
