Alex Antic: I want to start by getting a good idea of your career trajectory. Were there any pivotal points along your career path? Points where you thought data science and analytics were things you needed to pursue? Were there people that you were inspired by? I would love to hear your story.
Stephane Doyen: Interestingly, I never thought of myself (at least when I left high school) becoming what we call a data scientist. At the time, it wasn’t even a term – I think it’s something that came about more recently.
As a young student, I was pursuing my own interests, and one of my key interests back then was trying to understand how the human brain works, how thoughts come to be, what processing is involved, and so on. So, I started a psychological science degree.
