To start off this chapter, let’s first get rid of the sample data in your SugarCRM installation. Throughout this chapter, we will be showing a number of worked examples of entering data into the system, and using data already in the system. However, it is time you start working with your own data in the CRM. So, while we will show examples of Doc working with his data in the system, you should be working with your own data so that activities meaningful to your own business are taking shape in the system.
The first step is to re-install SugarCRM without the sample data. Then you will need to import your own data into the system.
Depending on which operating system you have chosen for your SugarCRM server—Windows or Linux—refer now to Appendix A or Appendix B, which deal with the mechanics of installing SugarCRM.
