Summary
In this chapter, we covered the main anatomical elements that make up a human when sculpting, such as bones, muscle groups, and tendons, going deeper into how each major muscle works and how it affects the shape of the human body, as well as the main differences between male and female bodies. We also covered how to block out male and female base meshes with mostly ideal proportions, simplifying the anatomy as much as possible by using simple shapes to convey the core shapes of a human body to build a good-looking silhouette.
At this point, you are more knowledgeable when working with anatomy and can construct a simple block out of the core shapes that compose the human body.
In the next chapter, we’ll refine the sculpture we have now, applying more of the anatomy seen in this chapter.
