Allowing Android APK file downloads on your phone

An alternative to using a USB cable to transfer a build to your Android device is to publish the build APK file on a website, and then install it onto your device via a mobile web browser. We have provided some steps for downloading Android APK builds using a web browser app.

Only download and install APK files you have created yourself or from sources you trust!

On non-Samsung devices, do the following:

  1. Go to your phone's Settings.
  2. Go to Security & Privacy | More Settings.
  3. Tap on Install Apps from External Sources.
  1. Select the browser (for example, Chrome or Firefox) you want to download the APK files from.
  2. Toggle Allow app installs on.

On Samsung devices, do the following:

  1. Go to your phone's Settings.
  2. Go to Biometrics and Security | Install Unknown Apps.
  3. Select the browser (for example, Chrome or Firefox) you want to download the APK files from.
  4. Toggle Allow App Installs / Allow from this source on.
