Inventory forecasting with SAP Business ONE
It is now time to take a closer look at the SAP MRP – (Material Requirements Forecasting) functionality. I will show you how it works and what it can do. We will then conclude with what it will not be capable of, and then find a way to compensate for that.
SAP MRP
The SAP inventory planning functionality is nested within the MRP – Material Requirements Planning menu item. MRP helps the user plan for relevant raw materials based on orders in production and orders placed. In addition, custom forecasts can be created. These will be used as a part of the MRP process. The process of MRP in SAP Business ONE is driven by a wizard-style interface. This means the user is guided through the entire process, step-by-step.
