Meta tags


Meta tags are words and descriptions about the information on your PrestaShop shop that are not seen by your customer. They reside in the code of your page, which some search engines read to help determine the words that they will use to index your site. Implementing meta tags well could help the search engines accurately determine your site's content. Meta tags are not as important as they used to be—some search engines do not use them at all—but they are so simple to implement in PrestaShop that they are well worth using.

They should be a part of your overall keyword strategy; we've already taken a look at them.

Meta tags can be defined for PrestaShop category, product, and article pages. Here I will show you how to easily add them to your category and product pages, and you will see how to add them to your articles later in the chapter.
