When you start a VDI project, you will probably go through a phase in which you will identify users who will use the VDI environment and those who will use a regular machine with all the applications installed and running locally. In this phase, one of the concerns about users who are going to use this VDI environment centers around the performance of the applications on the VMs.

Ensuring that all the VMs perform viably is critical for the success of your VDI implementation. However, some aspects require more than simply calculating how much hardware will be required from the RD Virtualization Hosts. One example of this is users with applications that require a GPU with 3D Graphics processing power to run application such as AutoCAD.
