Configuring Azure Site Recovery for Azure Virtual Machines

Throughout this chapter, we have been building up to this point, where we have established all the requirements for configuring ASR for virtual machine protection within Azure. Given a scenario where we have two existing Azure virtual machines already configured and ready for replication, let’s walk through the process of ASR with Azure VMs, including monitoring and failover testing.

Let’s begin with the process of ASR for Azure Virtual Machines:

  1. Within the Recovery Services Vault and Site Recovery Infrastructure sections for Azure VMs, we will begin by establishing the appropriate network mapping for our source and target locations, as shown in Figure 11.17:
