Troubleshooting AD replication

Let’s begin with a quick overview of AD DS regarding its structure and defining what replication does for AD DS. Every domain controller in an AD DS environment contains a replica of several partitions (or naming contexts), and each directory partition contains objects that have a specific replication scope and purpose for the AD DS environment.

In general, AD replication achieves the replication of objects via an attribute-level change monitor to complete granular updates of attributes without collisions or conflict. In addition, AD replication also builds an autogenerated replication topology of additional replication partner DCs, ensuring that none of the partners are more than two to three hops apart from each other.
