Replicating data to Azure SQL

Data Export Service replicates data from Common Data Service into an Azure SQL database or SQL Server instance running in an Azure virtual machine.

The replication is ongoing and continuous. It utilizes the change tracking feature to pull delta changes of data from Common Data Service, so it is highly efficient. 

Replicating Common Data Service to an Azure SQL database enables real-time reporting with Power BI, allows your data to be added to a data warehouse, or allows your data to be combined with data in other systems for reporting.

There is a set of prerequisites for configuring Data Export Service:

  • Install the solution from AppSource.
  • Get access to an Azure subscription.
