Setting up Microsoft Syntex

To set up the intelligent content processing capabilities of Microsoft Syntex, a Microsoft Azure subscription is needed. Microsoft Syntex requires a resource group in a subscription. Earlier Syntex also included per-user licensing, but it was deprecated on July 1, 2023.

Important note

The Microsoft Syntex service will be renamed as SharePoint Premium in the near future.

The billing and settings of Syntex are managed on the Use content AI with Microsoft Syntex section in the Microsoft 365 admin center.

The setup starts by linking the Azure subscription and a resource group for billing:
