In this chapter, we learned how site columns and content types can be used to describe and classify list items and documents. We learned about commonly used site columns in the modern SharePoint experience and how easy it is to create and manage columns.

Next, we were introduced to content types and how they are used to manage site column settings, behavior, and templates. We saw how easy it is to apply a site column or a content type to a list or a library.

In the last section, we learned how content types can be managed from the centralized Content Type Gallery, how content types are published and updated, and what happens when content types are unpublished.
