Licensing and pricing of Syntex capabilities

Document processing, content assembly, image tagging, and OCR features are billed based on pay-as-you-go licensing, which requires an Azure subscription for billing. Operations are transaction-based, and a transaction is a page in a document, an Excel sheet, or an image file – for example, extracting content from a 10-page Word document counts as 10 transactions. Detailed pricing can be found in the Microsoft Syntex documentation.

On a cost basis, setting up Syntex’s intelligent document modeling capabilities requires thorough planning, since each processing operation is billed, even unsuccessful ones. Publishing intelligent models to be available on all SharePoint sites and libraries may lead to uncontrolled costs on an Azure subscription. When Syntex features are implemented, it’s a good practice to monitor costs on the linked resource group in Azure.
