Introducing Styles

Well, we’ve mastered the basics of grids, typography, colors, and effects, but now it’s time to learn how to effectively manipulate these tools. And that is what we will practice in this section. As you can imagine, it would be incredibly irrational to apply our chosen font to every text layer in our design. In this hypothetical situation, you risk changing the fonts of all the text on all the screens in your application if you ever decide to replace the selected font with a different one. Figma provides a simple and flexible feature called Styles.

Styles in Figma is an incredibly powerful feature that allows you to save and reuse color palettes, fonts, and effect attributes in your design project. This means that you can apply the approved style properties to any element with a single click. And if you ever need to change any property, you can do it just as quickly in all layers of your file, or even across multiple files!
