Understanding the Quiz modes

When previewing the Quiz in the previous section, you noticed that, by default, you are presented with a button allowing you to review the Quiz. This button is, logically, located on the Quiz Result slide. To make it work, Captivate defines two different viewing modes for the Quiz:

  • The Quiz Mode is the initial viewing mode. It is used when you take the quiz, which means when all the questions of the Quiz have not yet been answered. The Quiz Mode begins when the playhead enters the first question slide of the Quiz and ends at the Quiz Result slide.
  • The Quiz Review Mode is used when all the questions of the Quiz have been answered and the student has clicked the Review Quiz button on the Quiz Result slide.

Captivate allows you to define navigation buttons that are specific to each of these viewing modes. In other words, some buttons are displayed in the regular Quiz Mode, while other buttons only appear in Quiz Review Mode. Let's experiment with this...
