Chapter 4: Texturing and Rendering the FN SCAR

In Chapter 3, Adding More Details with Polygon Modeling and Modifiers, we finished modeling the FN SCAR assault rifle and learned many new tools and techniques. Now, we will learn the basics of Blender’s rendering and texturing abilities, as well as some essential texturing techniques.

In this chapter, we will wrap up our FN SCAR project by creating materials and textures for the model and rendering it into a portfolio image.

First, we will create some simple color materials for the model. Then, we will apply some Blender-generated textures to make the materials look more realistic. When the materials and textures are ready, we will set up the lighting and the scene before finally rendering the project.
