Introduction


If you look at an object and ask yourself, "What kind of material is that made of?", you tend to define it as an actual material like wood or plastic, but in Cinema 4D, we have to be more specific while designing materials to apply to 3D objects and scenes. Instead you have to ask yourself, "How would you describe the look of this object?", "Is it shiny?", "Does it have bumps or dents in it?", "Can you see through it at all?"

Think about the home improvement stores, they are loaded with all sorts of products that are composed of different materials.
