Using selections with cloners

There's a handy feature of MoGraph that is similar to the Set Selection feature we used when applying materials. MoGraph allows you to apply your effectors only to clones that you specify with the special MoGraph Selection tool. In this recipe, we will apply two different effectors to two specific types of clones in our scene.

Getting ready

Open and use the Arrows_and_Cubes.c4d file from the C4D Content Pack with this recipe.

How to do it...

  1. Our scene is centered around our Figure object with a Radial Cloner surrounding it with two types of clones: arrows and cubes. We're going to start by introducing the Target effector, which takes our clones and has them point towards a particular target you specify in your scene. Select the Arrows and Cubes cloner in the Object Manager, go up to the MoGraph menu, find the Target Effector under the Effectors submenu, and apply it to the scene.

  2. You'll instantly notice our arrows get flipped the wrong way, and there's a simple remedy...
