Collecting overdue payments can be expensive and time consuming. An innocent reason for the card on file to fail is simply that it has expired. By automatically giving customers the opportunity to update a card, we can provide a better customer experience and lower operating costs.
This recipe is primarily intended for companies that sell using subscriptions or payment plans.
In the upper-left corner of the page, hover over the navigation and in the E-Commerce column, click on Settings:
In the Order Settings menu on the left, click on Billing Automation:
Using the Choose Trigger Type dropdown, select When a credit card is going to expire and click on Add Trigger to open a pop-up window, as shown in the following image:
In the Set Trigger Criteria area, configure for the following:
Card type: Any Type
Card expires in:
