Importing to groups or tags

As with many platforms, there are a variety of ways you can accomplish the same task. The general idea here is that different users might have different usage patterns, so tools should be accessible in multiple ways to empower you to find the mechanism that works best for your workflow. The method we’re most familiar with at this point is the import process.

Let’s go back to the example at the beginning of this chapter. In that example, all the contacts in the file that we imported in Figure 4.1 were all people we had met at a conference. The implication here is that when we choose to use the tag function during the import process, we are indicating that this tag applies to 100% of the contacts in the import. Although that might work for some use cases, in others, we might want a tag or group to apply to some contacts but not others.
